ILLO + PRINT 3rd Edition: Gillian Wilson, "Neighbourhood"

ILLO + PRINT is an ongoing collaborative series of limited edition letterpress prints that have been illustrated or designed by a local artist. (Illo = short for illustration) Each edition is shared between the artist and myself and is for sale for a unified price through our respective shops.

Gillian Wilson is an artist living in Guelph, Ontario. She designs and screen prints her own line of stationery, shirts and small prints and makes illustrations for a number of clients including Hamilton's Grain + Grit brewery.  www.gillianwilson.ca

With this piece we used a fun overprinting technique: letterpress inks are transparent, so printing the pink overtop of the green blended to create the 3rd dark plum colour. It was so fun to see these come to life on the press!
